Merchant Navy Day: remembering Devoran’s lost sailors

3rd September each year is Merchant Navy Day when the Red Ensign is proudly displayed in many places.

Devoran War Memorial lists several Merchant Navy casualties from WW2, including some listed on the village hall Roll of Honour as surviving throughout WW1 in the Mercantile Marine.
